Farewells at the Freud Museum

Farewells at the Freud Museum

On my last day at the Freud Museum, Jan. 22, Daniela organized a little champagne party (I should be precise: Prosecco!) for me with the staff with whom I’d worked most closely. Here in this picture (taken in the Lucian Freud photography exhibit in the room that was originally the Freud family’s salon) are from left to right: Bettina Althoff (a fantastic tour guide), Georg Thaler (bookstore manager, who graciously shared his office with me), Daniela Finzi (assistant research director and the liaison to the Fulbright program – my primary colleague at the museum), Peter Nömaier (business manager), me, Simone Faxa (archivist), Monica Pessler (the new director, who has been wonderfully welcoming and supportive, with great new ideas for the museum as well), and another good colleague who prefers to remain anonymous. (Not pictured is Robert, who was my tech guru throughout my time at the museum, and who took this picture. He is included on the right below: 1-21 farewell at SFM IMG_1215
