Christmas Day stroll in the Stadtpark

Christmas Day stroll in the Stadtpark

Michael and I had a very unusual Christmas Day strolling the Stadpark. Stadtpark on Christmas Day The weather was unbelievably mild (still no snow in Vienna!) We stopped at the Johann Strauss monument and one of the ubiquitous concert salesmen in Mozartean dress kindly snapped this photo for us. I’m wearing a colorful coat that was my Christmas present from Michael – bought at an Advent market in the medieval Spittelgasse district. I remember there being wild peacocks in this part of the park 30 years ago, and I’m wondering where they went!? (Do they fly south for the winter!?) We also saw many of the other statues in the park, including this graceful monument to Franz Schubert.
