Elegant dinner in Prague

For my last evening, I treated myself to a lovely dinner at the Cantinetta Fiorentina, very near the Old-New Synagogue, which I had scouted on my tour of the Old Town on Friday. The building is a beautiful example of fin-de-siècle art nouveau decoration in Prague. The original name of the restaurant, engraved over the corner doors, is “Restaurace426 u Stare Synagogy.” The interior includes a beautifully decorated high-ceilinged room with many separate dining areas for varying degrees of privacy – perfect for entertaining, romance, or even intrigue! The city’s historic atmosphere and literal mist off the river lends itself well to the idea of a historical mystery novel.
