Monday night, after a full day of work at the Freud Museum, I met up with my Fulbright buddy Judith at a unique restaurant, “Meierei” (“Creamery”), which she found for us in the center of the Stadtpark (a bit of a challenge to find in the dark – this is the rather unique signage, a human-sized lit up milk bottle!) The restaurant has an artsy menu, and also houses an extensive cheese shop (the aroma is a bit overwhelming when you first enter.) Upstairs is one of Vienna’s most imposing restaurants where dinner is a lengthy and expensive event. We were happy to be downstairs watching the lights glittering on the edge of the park through the glass walls of this milk-glass themed room. http://www.steirereck.at.
