Votivkirche and “Where the Thought Leaves the Line”

There is a vinyl mesh billboard stretched across the façade of the Votivkirche. It recently changed from an ad for H&M to an art installation by Hans Mlenek (www.mlenek.at) that is provoking (and irritating some) people. It’s a minimalist abstract black and white image, intended to quasi-represent the human form, with the words “Where the Thought Leaves the Line.” Whatever one thinks of it, it’s hard to miss!
