“Tower” at Jung’s Kusnacht House

For many years Jung had a dream of building a tower as part of his dwelling. While Emma objected to a fantastic medieval castle as their marital home (paid for by her inheritance!), a compromise was reached and above the front door rises an attached tower which houses a spiral staircase – the main staircase of the house. The rest of the house is in a traditional Swiss lakeside style, modern for the early 1900’s, with elegant proportions and simple ornamentation.
