Rainy day also a good day for museum-going. At the other end of the bus line from my hotel in the university district is the Zentrum Paul Klee, which currently has an exhibit of Klee’s life and works, as well as another contemporary exhibit, a large research facility, a café, and a (very expensive) restaurant. The Klee exhibit is a retrospective, and his early works were almost obsessionally detailed pencil, pen & ink drawings of exquisite technique. Later works, like this one “Der Adler” reflect his turn to the Avant Garde around 1911. The building is worth the trip in itself. http://www.zpk.org/.
