Schiele statue

Schiele statue

The Schiele galleries in the Leopold Museum exhibit were wonderful. I was more familiar with his rather bizarre (some would say pornographic) images of emaciated girls and women, and some of his portraits. They were represented in this exhibit, but also many landscapes, and a range of works across his career that showed him to be far more than just an ephebophile voyeur. I found this statue of a youth, one of 6 originally placed around a fountain, to be very moving.
